About Local HLatest Album: California Songs Background: Local H emerged in the early '90s from the Chicago music scene by way of suburban Zion, Illinois, where singer/ guitarist Scott Lucas first met drummer Joe Daniels. The earliest lineups of the band were traditional, with two other members supplying bass and second guitar. But that all changed when Lucas discovered he could play the low strings on his guitar through a bass pickup, thus eliminating the need for a full-time bass player. Soon enough, Local H had slimmed down to a two-piece band. But it was Lucas and Daniels' ability to sound as huge as a complete four-piece lineup that attracted the attention of both fans and labels.
