Background: They've played shows with Reel Big Fish and the Get Up Kids, their van has logged too many miles, and they probably recognize the smell of each other's feet more quickly than they'd like to admit. This is to say that, despite a major-label contract with MCA, New Found Glory is still very much a punk-rock band. Their world of emo-core demands sincerity and integrity, and they've maintained both as they continue to build what is turning out to be a very promising following. The Coral Springs, Florida-based NFG formed in the summer of 1997; singer Jordan Pundik, guitarists Chad Gilbert and Steve Klein, bassist Ian Grushka, and drummer Cyrus Bolooki quickly took to the road, playing shows up and down the East Coast and selling out their independent first EP, It's All About The Girls. They won the '98 Slammie Award, which is awarded to the best new band in Florida, which in 1998 they apparently were. They quickly followed up that success with their first full-length disc, Nothing Gold Can Stay (the album, originally self-released, was later repressed by MCA, as was It's All About The Girls). An EP of movie themes, From The Screen To Your Stereo, was released in 2000.
