EveryTicket.com Selected #78 on 2004 Inc. 500 List
The Fastest Growing Ticket Company in the Country
Four Year Average Annual Sales Growth of 1432%

Inc. magazine selected EveryTicket.com in its 23rd annual Inc. 500 ranking among the fastest-growing private companies in the country. EveryTicket.com, the world’s leading online source for events tickets, ranks #78 with average annual sales growth of 357.9%. It is the fastest growing ticket company in the country.

Co-founders and brothers, John and Bob Marshall, first entered the ticket business as fierce competitors.

“We constantly tried to outdo each other,” Bob says. “Any time one of us learned something new about the industry, we loved keeping it a secret to watch the other one try to figure it out. It definitely got competitive, but then we’d meet for dinner and laugh about what a blast the day had been.”

With their diverse personalities and different business strategies, it didn’t take long for the two to realize that they could achieve more together.

“John’s no-nonsense, sharp business mind and Bob’s amiable, people-centered management skills are the perfect complements,” explains Vice-President Sridhar Murthy. “Together, they definitely keep me on my toes.”

Since the Marshall brothers joined forces, the company hasn’t looked back. From its humble beginnings in a one-bedroom apartment overflowing with phone and computer equipment, EveryTicket.com has grown to be one of the largest ticket brokers in the nation. At any given moment, the website lists over 1 million tickets for hundreds of events nationwide. Despite increasing competition within the industry and imitation sites surfacing on the web, the company has managed to grow its client base, both nationally and internationally.

“It still hasn’t sunk in,” says John. “Being named in the Inc. 500 has been a life-long dream of ours and it feels pretty unbelievable to check that off our list of goals.”

Inc. magazine, the premiere publication for small and medium-sized businesses, ranks companies on averaged year-over-year sales growth. To be eligible for this year’s Inc. 500, companies had to be independent and privately held through their fiscal year 2003, have had at least $200,000 in net sales in the base year of 1999 for Inc. 500 alumni and 2000 for new applicants, and $2 million in net sales for 2003. In addition, their 2003 sales had to exceed 2002 sales.

Inc. magazine verifies all information using tax forms and audited financial statements from certified public accountants and by conducting interviews with company officials.
